MARSHALL BUREAU

Marshall Bureau is a professional drummer and musician. Marshall has worked with different artists and bands including Jill Barber, Great Lake Swimmers, Jim Guthrie, Mike O’Neill and Octoberman. He is the composer of Quantization.

COLIN CLARK

Colin is an artist, design researcher, and the Associate Director of OCAD University’s Inclusive Design Research Centre, where he has worked for over 20 years. He is co-founder of the Fluid Project, an open source community dedicated to creating new participatory design practices, democratic software frameworks, and inclusive tools for creativity and artistic expression. Colin is currently the principal investigator of the Coding to Learn and Create project, which is developing open software tools and educational resources to enable students with disabilities to more fully participate in collaborative, arts-based coding activities. He is the creator of Flocking, Aconite, and Bubbles—a suite of open source tools that support computational creativity and experimental sound and video art practices, which are used by artists internationally.

 


JESS MITCHELL

Jess is Senior Manager, Research + Design at the Inclusive Design Research Centre. She manages large-scale projects and initiatives focusing on fostering innovation within diverse communities while achieving outcomes that benefit everyone.

Jess is a community leader who works in a highly collaborative, open, and iterative manner borrowing methods from agile, participatory, and inclusive design.

Jess has Master’s degree in Philosophy. She has worked on a number of complex distributed projects, bridging gaps among diverse stakeholders while fostering innovation. Those projects have ranged from building the Ghana Internet Exchange Point in West Africa, teaching an open source project course with 4th year students at Duke University, and working to make education materials accessible and inclusive of the diversity of learners.
